This page offers a quick starting point on how to record camera movement in Chaos Vantage.

Steps

1. Record camera.

To start recording camera movement, go to the Tools tab > Record Camera Movement or click the Record Camera Movement (Vantage_Cameratab_RecordCamera.png) button in the Camera lister. There is also a shortcut for this: Ctrl+Shift+R.

To mimic recording of a walkthrough, enter Free look mode: click the Vantage_TopToobar_FreeLook.PNG button, or use the ` shortcut, or right-click and use the WAand keys to navigate in the scene. The and keys move the camera up and down. The camera movement is recorded as a new camera slot in the Camera tab while you walk around. You can tell that the saved camera slot is a recorded camera movement by the red outline around the thumbnail.

You can stop the recording from the same button (Vantage_Cameratab_RecordCamera.png).

2. Preview animation.

To preview the recorded camera movement, open the Animation Editor by clicking on the Animation Editor(Vantage_Bottom_Bar_Editor.png) button to expose the animation tracks. Drag and drop the camera from the Camera list in the Camera animation track and click the Play(Vantage_Bottom_Bar_animation1.PNG) button.

3. HQ Render animation.

To render the recorded camera, go to Tools > Render High Quality Sequence or from the teapot render button (Vantage_Bottom_Bar_quality.PNG). You can also use the shortcut for this: Ctrl+R.

Choose the render resolution and click Start. You are prompted to select the output directory and file name.
