This page offers a quick starting point on changing and rendering lights in Chaos Vantage.

Steps

1. Set scene for export to Vantage.

Export the scene to a .vrscene file.

2. Load and preview the scene in Vantage.

Load a scene or project in Vantage.

3. Edit basic light parameters.

Lights can be selected either in the viewport with the Select (Vantage_TopToobar_Select.PNG) tool or in the Objects tab.

Available parameters per light can be controlled in the Light lister. What parameters display is controlled by the Compact, Basic and Advanced buttons above the lister. Use the lister in Compact mode to control only On/Off, color and intensity parameters of the lights.

4. Get finer control over lights.

Use the lister in Basic mode to access more common parameters for lights, for example directionality, shadows, etc.

5. Set up advanced lighting options.

Use the lister in Advanced mode to have access to all available parameters, for lights for example shadow harshness or profiles of IES lights.

6. Snap menu.

The Snap dialog menu allows options to specify snapping intervals for position, rotation and scale values of the selected object. The dialog menu is accessible by right-clicking the Snap button (Vantage_TopToobar_TransformSnapping.png ) in the top toolbar. To enable snapping, click the Snap button (or use the shortcut S) and click again to disable it.
