Phoenix FD provides the following custom tools located in the "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\Phoenix FD\3ds Max 20xx for x64\bin" folder:

  • Cache Converter – converts already existing .aur cache sequences to OpenVDB sequences without simulating.
  • Standalone Previewer –  previews AUR, VDB and Field3D cache files without loading them into a DCC application such as 3ds Max or Maya. Can be used to save a sequence of images for the preview of an entire cached simulation.
  • Standalone Previewer CLI – command line interface for the Phoenix FD Standalone Previewer. Previews by saving images without a graphics window or graphical user interface.
